The great latin American writer and Nobel Laurette, Gabriel Garcia Marquez died at his home in Mexico. He was 87. Known for his intoxicating novels and short stories, he was often put in the league of such litrary greats such as Charles Dickens and Mark Twain. Through his novels and short stories he exposed the readers outside Latin America to its social imbalance, violence, passion and superstitions. Gabriel Garcia Marquez was the popular Spanish-language writer since Miguel de Cervantes in the 17th century. The Colombian-born Garcia Marquez achieved literary celebrityhood early in his career.
